Apple's update for its various operating systems will include new emoji that will represent more diversity. For those who don't know, emoki are colorful, fun icons that many use in text messages and other media. In Apple's update, users can choose from icons with a larger variety of skin tones as well as those representing LGBT couples and families with same-sex parents.
While it is unclear when the update will be available to all users on its various platforms, Apple's move toward increased diversity has generally been received very positively. Apple first started including LGBT emoji in its operating systems back in 2012.
The latest in Apple's LGBT emoji will include:
Families with two moms
Families with two dads
And gay and lesbian couples
