Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, the designers behind luxury brand Dolce & Gabbana, recently emphasized support for their idea of the "traditional" family by referring to children born from in vitro fertilization (IVF) "synthetic". Famed singer/songwriter Elton John responded quickly on social media, shaming them and calling for a boycott of their powerful Italian luxury brand.
Since then, more celebrities, straight and gay alike, have jumped on board. Dolce and Gabbana's words were offensive to both straight and gay people alike, especially because many couples of all types have used IVF to help with infertility problems.
