In the Unites States, there is an estimated 2.5 million homeless youth. You may have seen some of them panhandling at street corners or living in makeshift shelters on the streets. You may have wondered why they don't get jobs, or why they don't just go home. The reality is that for many of these children, home is worse than the precarious streets. 40% of homeless teenagers identify as LGBT and have been ostracized from their families. 72% have experienced violence and abuse.

Meet Danielle. In this compelling video, she shares her story and the circumstances that lead her to sleeping on trains and hiding from the world. But Danielle and the people at Start From Here are not here to give you a sob story. In fact, this is a story of hope. This is a story meant to show you that we can change the future for these teens, just as Danielle has changed her future. It starts with self-worth. It starts with showing them that they are worthy of love.
